Stretching subtitles
We got a LOT of questions about stretching: how often? Which stretches should I do? Here are a few tips.

Do: Stretch often and don’t obsess about a perfect routine. If something feels tight, find a way to stretch it out. Be mindful to not “go for broke,” but rather take your time and ease into the movement. It is so critical that you focus on breathing throughout. This will help to ensure that you are not moving past the point of a healthy ROM and this will assist in down regulating your parasympathetic nervous system, opposite of ‘fight or flight’ allowing you to further chill and become more calm.

Don’t: Always try to get the same ROM from time to time and day to day. SO MANY factors will affect your flexibility. Stay mindful to be present and know that the process of stretching is working. Never bounce when getting into a stretch. IMPORTANT: Hydrated tissue is happy tissue. Aim to consume at least 50% of your body weight (lbs.) in ounces / day. If you’re under this general target, addressing this may help increase your ROM immediately.
